We have all grown up watching superhero movies. None of these superheroes, however, have been Tanzanian. In this book, you will love the concept of a young African boy from NYALU LAND transforming into a superhero. The story begins in the past (life before colonialism) when kings ruled over the vast kingdom at that time. The birth of a new prince (Baraka) brings happiness and hope to a nation that has been trying to keep its enemies at bay, the new prince is a delightful sight. He is a curious and playful child. An encounter with a ferocious lion unleashes his hidden power allowing him to gain victory, over the lion which astonishes the entire kingdom, from then on, we read about various incidents that unravel the hidden powers of ordinary boy as he live his daily lives. The NGONGOTI’s illustrations are top-notch, there is also the inclusion of QUESTIONS at the end of each story as well as nuggets of wisdom on empowering children to understand they have a right to education. NGONGOTI may be a comic book for children but will undoubtedly delight adult readers as well.
