HANDLING PREGNANT SCHOOL ADOLESCENT CASES IN TANZANIA
This book addresses the challenges in handling school pregnant cases such as those faced by pregnant students during criminal procedures and challenges faced by handlers of the case, which include community leaders, parents, teachers and law enforcement officers.
This book was written on the bases of true research entitled “Moral challenges in handling pregnant school adolescents in Tanga Municipality, Tanzania” that was first published on South African Journal of Bioethics and Law. The author blended the findings of the research with an experience of working with police to describe how laws and policies in Tanzania lead to untold challenges on pregnant students and community leaders. Under the current laws and regulations, political leaders take full control of decisions about whether a pregnant student should be excluded from the formal education system or retained. Resulting challenges were explained in this book.
